POSITION SUMMARY:
The Engineering Clerk provides administrative and operational support for Civil Engineering to meet the requirements of the Maxwell BOS contract. The Engineering Clerk supports the Engineering Section in its day to day business processes associated with BOS requirements. These processes support engineers and technicians with the successful accomplishment of contract design and construction projects and other tasked engineering related activities.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
Responsible to perform all assigned duties as safely and efficiently as possible to maintain a safe work environment.
Provides Document Control for correspondence associated with facility design and construction projects to include maintaining logs to track all shop drawings and submittals submitted for approval, and returns them to contracting when completed. For those disapproved continues to track them until resubmitted.
Coordinates projects for review and monitors the review process Responsible for contacting those offices who have not completed required reviews in a timely manner. Update specifications from mark-ups, set up cover sheets for project manuals. Must have capability and knowledge to print and scan a variety of media to supplement projects.
Log, sort and file completed project folders.
Maintains the original AF Form 332 for all projects in each of the 5 year facility and infrastructure plans, and updates the 5 year plan spread sheets.
Assist the Engineer section with contacting Architect and Engineering firms and users to set up meetings, re-files project folders, runs plans from the vault and "R" drive, types specifications and reports, makes copies of CDs, plans, specification and delivering them to contracting when required.
Inputs inspection reports into applicable data bases and files photos.
Capable of accomplishing simple AUTOCAD tasks.
Capable of inputting data into various data bases to include ACES and internal developed spread sheets supporting real property, energy management and engineering requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional and mission requirements.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Standard office automation equipment and software. Knowledge of test equipment. Windows Server 2003/2008, Red Hat Enterprise LINUX, CommVault and other related software applications and tools related to the management and operations of a predominately Microsoft environment
