Exempla Lutheran Medical Center& Leading by Example. JOB DESCRIPTION: Prepare and process all private and insurance billings for ECLH and Apartments. Coordinate any additional financial resources needed for day to day operations. Maintain daily census changes for ECLH and reconcile census monthly to Medical Records prior to billing. Update room and recurring charges and resident contributions for ECLH monthly prior to billing. Generate charges for ECLH monthly prior to billing. Prepare deposits as needed and post cash receipts for ECLH monthly prior to billing. Generate statements for ECLH monthly and review for accuracy. Correct any erroneous data. Assist resident/responsible party and other departments with inquiries and questions regarding billing. Submit payment requests for refunds to resident/responsible party of over payment when appropriate. Assist residents/responsible parties with the process of Medicaid application. Prepare month end financial spreadsheets and submit to Exempla Finance in a timely manner and provide financial information to other departments throughout Exempla upon request. Process ECLH Medicaid (including PETI), Medicare, and Managed Care claims. Review payment/denial vouchers to determine if further action is necessary and resubmit claims when appropriate. Complete and submit any reports, forms, financial information, or documentation required by government agencies. Maintain billing logs and bad debt logs for Medicare. Generate billing to third party payers upon request of resident/responsible party, other departments, or insurance carriers. Maintain current knowledge of all state and federal regulations that affect the billing of qualified residents. Maintain and revise master files for the Horizon/ LTCS software. Provide cross training for staff on the Horizon/LTCS software. Supervise the Resident Trust Account including monthly reconciliation to the bank statement, closing of accounts, and quarterly statements. Submit approved payment requests and invoices to Accounts Payable in a timely manner. Develop and maintain budget for ECLH Accounting (8805) and assist with budgets in other areas upon request. Supervise the Billing Assistant and maintain her hours in the Kronos system. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Three years billing experience in Long Term Care.
